Most beginner gear lists start with a microphone. In a normal room, that is backwards. A nicer mic hears more of the room, including the ceiling slap and the street. Fix the reflection first.

- Two moving blankets and a way to hang them behind you and just out of frame.
- A dynamic microphone, close to your mouth. Distance is the noise floor.
- An audio interface with one clean preamp. Turn the gain down once the mic is close.
- Closed-back headphones so the guest track does not leak into the mic.
- A phone or a camera you already own, if you want a face in the clips.
The gear page has the longer version, including why an SM7B is a slightly deaf mic on purpose when a drum kit shares the room. Affiliate programs are not switched on yet. The recommendations are the ones used on the demo episode, not a commission table.
Gear does not write the show notes. Once the recording is decent, the weekly bottleneck is the crate: notes, chapters, titles, and a few captioned clips.
